About the Ames Chapel

After almost a century of falling into disrepair, the Ames Chapel underwent a magnificent restoration in 2015, preserving its unique historic character while upgrading its systems and amenities to twenty-first century standards.

The focal point of the Great Hall is the jewel-toned stained glass window. There are also stained glass transom windows and beadboard trim made of gumwood, along with original flooring made from white pine, inlaid with cherry wood. The adjoining parlor has period wallpaper and antique furnishings from the time the chapel was built.

The upstairs rooms make excellent spaces for private parties, religious ceremonies such as weddings and funeral services, and cultural events including musical performances, book readings, educational conferences, and the like. The Great Hall fits 90 people seated in rows, 50 at banquet tables.
